Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Krups 203-42 Fast Touch Coffee Grinder, BlackCustomer Review: Difficult to keep clean Summary: 3 StarsI was given the grinder when I stated to a friend that I was looking for something to grind whole flax seeds. The product does a good job grinding the flax seeds. It is difficult to keep clean when used in this way, however, I believe because of the seeds' high oil content. A great deal of the ground flax seeds stick to the sides and have to be scraped off sometimes with a lot of pressure. The inside can become damage by doing so and the plastic top can become scratched. Given the price and performance and my desire to consume freshly ground flax seeds I have recently purchased a second one when the original one could no longer be cleaned sufficiently.
Customer Review: Great Buy! Summary: 5 StarsThis was our first grinder buy and we think it was a good choice. Simple to use and does a great job of grinding whole coffee beans. I see no faults in this grinder at all and for the price, how can you go wrong!
Customer Review: All blades Grinders need improvement Summary: 4 StarsI currently own 3 different blade grinders and they all suffer from the same problem which is that they do not grind coffee evenly so that you end up with large chunks of coffee among the finer ground particles. Burr grinders are superior but they cost about 4 times as much as a blade grinder and are quite a big larger.
Customer Review: Cheap, works, short cord Summary: 4 StarsWhaddya want for 20 bucks? This thing works fine. If you are a coffee nut then spend more and get something better. Only one complaint: the cord is 27". I guess that would be an advantage if you happen to have an outlet in the right place. As for the cleaning difficulties that some people complained about, a damp paper towel does the job.
Customer Review: Pretty good for the price Summary: 4 StarsThis coffee grinder is small, convenient, and, most importantly, inexpensive.
However, it does not grind very evenly and although I clean it fairly regularly per instructions, it produces an odd smell, almost like burning coffee.
I would recommend it to individuals just starting to grind their own coffee or looking for convenient travel-sized units (it does require an outlet, however), but not to more experienced coffee drinkers or those looking for high quality.
