I've purchased several Mr. Coffee, Hamilton beach's and Black and Decker's which have all worn out. Eventually they take 15 minutes to brew 6-cups (my regular) and they're hard to clean. Let's face it, taste comes from the cleanliness of the machine. The only way to get a machine that makes a connoisseur cup of coffee clean or not is to have an espresso pressure brewer, burr grinder, and $20 bag of coffee. So the best way to get a great cup is to have something cleans easily. This is pretty easy to clean and remove the filter basket and carafe. Also it brews a half pot in about 3 minutes so you can have something ready quickly. However I wouldn't advise it for the person who wants a pot ready for you in the morning via a reliable timer. The timer on this is terrible! If I set the correct time and leave it alone, two days later it could be off by 3 hours. As well as that I think the set time actually turns on 5 minutes after you set it.
Summary: For the person who wants to make a cup manually it's the best bet you can get and is worth the $60. If you want to have it ready for you to go in the morning it's a waste of money. It makes great tasting coffee and makes it quick and it is very easy to clean.

New from Krups, this 12-cup programmable coffee maker has 1,100 watts to provide fast and efficient brewing. The programmable timer/auto on sets the start time each day and has a 1-3 cup flavor setting to maximize flavor extraction from small quantities of coffee. There is an audible signal indicating when the machine is done brewing and a popular pause and serve feature allows interruption anytime during brewing. After brewing, the heating plate time is adjustable from 1 to 5 hours. The 60 ounce water reservoir has a detection feature which shuts the unit off if completely empty has a built in water filtration system to remove chlorine and limescale buildup. Beautifully styled with a blue illuminated LED control panel for easy of use, it has a solid stainless steel swing out filter holder with soft eject motion and easy pour 12 cup glass carafe with no drip spout and ergonomic handle design.
